As we approach the Half Yearly Examinations/Term 1 ( 2025-26), we would like to thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child’s academic journey. These exams are an important milestone that help assess the progress and understanding of key concepts taught during the first half of the academic year.
We encourage you to:

 Question Paper Format:
 
(Class NUR to Class II) (80 Marks)
 
Students will write their answers directly on the question paper; no separate answer sheets will be provided. Please ensure that sufficient space is allocated for responses.
 
Question papers should be typed as per the prescribed format provided below:
 
Section A: Objective Type Questions (20 marks)
Multiple Choice (MCQs): 5 questions X 2 Mark each = 10 Marks
Match the following: 5 questions X 1 Mark each = 5 Marks
Fill in the Blanks: 5 questions X 1 Mark each = 5 Marks
 
Section B: Very Short Answer Type (15 marks)
Define / Name / Identify: 5 questions X 1 Mark each = 5 Marks
One-word Answers / True or False: 5 questions X 1 Mark each = 5 Marks
Label the Diagram / Picture: 5 questions X 1 Mark each = 5 Marks
 
Section C: Short Answer Type (25 marks)
Answer briefly (concept-based): 5 questions X 3 Mark each = 15 Marks
Picture-based / Activity-based: 2 questions X 5 Mark each = 10 Marks
 
Section D: Long Answer Type (20 marks)
Describe / Explain / Story / Essay / Diagram: 2 questions X 10 Mark each = 20 Marks
 
(Class III to VIII) (80 Marks):
 
Question papers should be typed as per the prescribed format provided below:
 
Section A: Objective Type Questions (16 marks)
MCQs / One-word answers: 8 questions X 1 Mark each = 8 Marks
Fill in the blanks: 4 questions X 1 Mark each = 4 Marks
March the following: 2 questions (with 2 items each) X 2 Mark each = 4 Marks
 
Section B: Very Short Answer Type (12 marks)
Define / Identify: 4 questions X 1 Mark each = 4 Marks
Complete the sentence: 4 questions X 1 Mark each = 4 Marks
Picture / diagram labelling: 2 questions X 2 Mark each = 4 Marks
 
Section C: Short Answer Type (20 marks)
Explain briefly / Give reasons: 4 questions X 3 Mark each = 12 Marks
Differentiate / List types: 2 questions X 4 Mark each = 8 Marks
 
Section D: Long Answer Type (20 marks)
Explain with examples: 2 questions X 5 Mark each = 10 Marks
Creative response / Write a paragraph or process: 2 questions X 5 Mark each = 10 Marks
 
Section E: Case-Based / Application-Based Questions (12 marks)
Case / Comprehension / Scenario-based: 2 Cases (2-3 questions per case) X 6 Marks each case = 12 Marks
 
Class IX to XII (Sci. & Com.): (all question paper will be of 80 Marks)
Follow the CBSE Board Examination Pattern for question paper setting.
 
3. Computer Examination question paper break-up (Class V to VIII):
Theory: 60 Marks
Practical: 20 Marks
Total: 80 Marks
 
Computer Examination question paper (Class V to VIII) (60 Marks for Theory)
Section A Objective (MCQs, T/F, Fill ups): 12 questions X 1 Mark each = 12 Marks
Section B Very Short Answer: 5 questions X 2 Mark each = 10 Marks
Section C Short Answer: 6 questions X 3 Mark each = 18 Marks
Section D Long Answer: 4 questions X 5 Mark each = 20 Marks
 
Final marks will be calculated as: (20 Marks 1st PT + 80 Marks 1st Term = 100 Marks)
 
the Computer question paper for Classes IX to XII (Sci. & Com.) will be of 80 marks.
